Odyssey assisted our client Bloor Homes Ltd in securing outline planning permission for up to 1,000 homes on land at the Basingstoke Golf Course. Whilst the site was allocated within the Local Plan, the scale of the proposed development meant that there were a number of obstacles to overcome. Odyssey provided various planning and engineering services in support of the planning application, including transport planning, flood risk, drainage and infrastructure support in the form of preparation of various technical reports. The application was originally due to be determined at committee in March 2020, however this was delayed by Covid-19. The application was eventually determined at a virtual committee in July 2020, receiving unanimous approval from committee members.
As a result of Odyssey’s ability to provide a range of services, we are already progressing work on the Phase 1 Reserved Matters Application, alongside progressing the detailed design for the proposed constructions access.
